Hearthward

My first game! I was inspired by ROTMG and decided to try my hand at making a little something! Please feel free to donate or leave any suggestions! I will continue to update this until I make it as amazing as I know it can be.

Every hero who falls makes the Hearth burn brighter.

Hearthward is a fast, top-down bullet-hell RPG set on an island of rings, each one wilder than the last. Pick one of ten classes, dodge storms of enemy fire, loot gear that changes how you fight, and push from the gentle Shore to the Celestial Peaks at the island's heart. Die, and your hero is gone for good, but the renown they earned stays with you.

What's in the beta

- Ten classes, from the spell-slinging Wizard and the arrow-piercing Archer to the dash-punching Brawler and the yo-yo-spinning Yoyoer. Each has three talent trees.

- Bullet-hell combat with dozens of monsters across ten lands, plus a whole different crowd that hunts after dark.

- Hundreds of items: tiered weapons, abilities, armor and rings, and legendaries with their own twists.

- Permadeath with progress. Fallen heroes bank renown for new classes, perks, starting kits and 60+ skins.

- The Hearth, your safe home: a vault that survives death, a Blacksmith who smelts and upgrades your gear, a Merchant with a rotating stock, and a Hearthstone you grow with materials from your runs.

- Survival crafting: chop, mine, smelt and forge.

- Co-op for up to 8 heroes: host or join with a short code, form parties, ping, and teleport to friends.

- Boss and dungeon: face the Dread Gazer in its hollow.

Controls

WASD to move, mouse to aim and shoot, Space for your ability, F / V for potions, R to go home to the Hearth.

Every key and controller button can be rebound.

Beta notes

- Windows 10/11, 64-bit. Nothing else to install.

- The music is a placeholder; new audio is coming.

- Saves live in `%LOCALAPPDATA%\Hearthward`. If something goes wrong, please post in the comments and attach

`latest.log` from that folder.
